In Lacrimosa, players take the roles of patrons of the late Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, contributing their funds one last time to complete his unfinished Requiem and document his musical legacy. Players use hand management and deck building mechanisms across five periods to commission works, travel across Europe, and preserve memories of the famous composer.

“However, if you are a fan of euro games and enjoy the mechanisms of resource and hand management then I really encourage you to give this a try. If you weren't interested in the theme before, I guarantee that by the end of the game, it will be singing.”

“Lacrimosa, uh, is a sort of medium plusweight game, but I love medium plus weight games where turns are quick. You know, the game itself might be 2 or 3 hours, but each individual turn is snappy, and that keeps me invested.”
