In Mr. Jack, one player takes the role of Jack the Ripper disguised as one of eight characters on the board, while the other player acts as the investigator trying to deduce his identity before he escapes. Through tactical movement and the use of unique character abilities, players try to narrow down the suspects or stall for time over the course of eight rounds.

“A really cool two-player game, doesn't take too long, but it, but it, feels like both sides have some cool abilities, and I think this is one of those ones where, after a few games, some people do find that one side wins more than the other, but I still really enjoy it as a two-player game.”

“This 10th anniversary edition is amazing because they've rebalanced the board to make the game more 50/50 versus 6040 which is what it used to be towards the investigators”(1:43)

“Mr. Jack is one of the classic two-player games about deduction and mystery. You'll find it in most board game cafes, it's been played by lots of people, and I think there's a reason for that: it's a very good example of an easy to grasp and engaging two-player game.”(1:06)

“The mechanics of the game don't make it any less of a good game now in 2020, like it's still a great game, and I'm not that huge on cat-and-mouse games, but I really enjoy this one.”(26:58)

“Overall, I give Mr. Jack a 7.5/10. For a game that can be played with kids, I think that it's phenomenal (thus the high review - if it were for adults only, I'd give it something closer to a 6.0).”

“There's something about it that's both interesting and at the same time not incredibly exciting for us I the deduction is somewhat neat but it's uh very thinky and I guess it's Al a very quiet game uh for a coup's game we're both pretty much just sitting there not talking and thinking a whole bunch which might be a little bit of a detractor for it”(23:18)
