In Sheriff of Nottingham, players alternate between acting as merchants trying to bring legal goods and contraband into the city market and taking on the role of the Sheriff charged with inspecting incoming wagons. Through clever bluffing, bribery, and negotiation, merchants attempt to sneak illicit items past the guard to build the most profitable stall.
